Two Career Bridges winners awarded first and second prize in the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition

2007 Grant Winner Michael Anthony McGee and 2008 Grant Winner Jorell Williams were awarded First Prize and Second Prize respectively at the prestigious 2009 Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition. The conmpetition was held on March 6, 2009 at the Liederkranz foundation in New York City. They were selected from over 40 finalists from throuhgout the United States.

Michael Anthony McGee is currently singing the title role in Falstaff with the Opera in the Heights in Houston, Texas. He recently was awarded a fellowship at the Tanglewood Music Festival, where this summer he will be singing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg conducted by James Levine.

Jorell Williams will graduate from the Graduate professional studies progam at Manhattan school this coming May and in the summer will be featured soloist at the OpernHaus in Zurich and artist-in residence at Chautauqua.
